REGISTERAfter having described the key concepts of community psychology that connect the sphere of the individual with that of the environment, the volume illustrates the main goals (prevention of disaffection and promotion of well-being) that the discipline pursues in its practical applications. The text then explains the "empowering" training model and schooling institutions' contribution to change over the last decade. The intervention techniques shaped and used in educational contexts (community profiles, networks, multidimensional organisational analysis, socio-emotional education) are described in operational terms, in the light of studies that show their effectiveness in reducing dropout rates and students' emotional problems, improving organisational climates, promoting pro-social behaviour, strengthening relationships between school and territory, teachers and pupils, and among students. Finally, the volume explores the development of long distance training and examines the tools used in a CSCL (Computer Supported Collaborative Learning) course.
